Cancellation & Refund Policy

PurohitConnect, operated by Connectorbit Technologies · Last updated 26 August 2026

This policy explains what happens to your money if a booking is cancelled — by you, or by the purohit. It forms part of our Terms of Service and is shown to you again before you pay.

How a booking is priced

Every booking has two parts: the puja amount, which is the purohit's fee for performing the service, and a service & support fee, which PurohitConnect charges for matching you with a verified purohit, handling payment, and providing support.

In India the service & support fee is 6% of the puja amount, plus 18% GST on that fee. For example, on a puja priced at ₹1,000 the fee is ₹60, GST on it is ₹10.80, and you pay ₹1,070.80 in total.

The exact amount is always shown to you as a separate line before you pay, so you never have to work it out yourself.

The service & support fee, and the GST charged on it, are non-refundable in every case — whoever cancels, and however early. The fee covers work already done at the point of booking, and the tax on it has been collected. All percentages below apply only to the puja amount.

If you cancel

What you get back depends on how long before the scheduled start of the puja you cancel. Time is measured from the moment you cancel, not from when you made the booking.

The purohit's share exists because a late cancellation costs them a booked day they can no longer fill, and often samagri they have already bought on your behalf.

If no purohit has accepted your booking yet

The scale above applies only once a purohit has accepted. If you have paid but no purohit has taken the booking, you may cancel at any time and receive the full puja amount back, because nobody has yet committed time or materials to it.

If the purohit cancels

You receive 100% of the puja amount back, however close to the ceremony the cancellation happens. There is no sliding scale — a cancellation by the purohit is not your fault, so you are not penalised for it.

We also apply a penalty to the purohit, scaled by how late they withdrew, and repeated cancellations lead to suspension from the platform.

If the purohit sends a substitute

A purohit may delegate your booking to another qualified purohit. If the substitute accepts and the puja goes ahead as scheduled, the booking continues normally and no refund is due. If the substitute declines, the booking returns to your original purohit.

If nobody can perform your puja

If a purohit withdraws and we cannot find a replacement in time, we cancel the booking ourselves and refund the full puja amount without you having to ask.

How to cancel

Open My Bookings in the app, select the booking, and choose Cancel. You will see what you are entitled to before you confirm.

When you get your money

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer typically takes 3 to 5 business days to credit them, and in some cases up to 7. We cannot speed this up once the refund has left our payment provider.

Partial payments

If you paid only an advance or a booking fee rather than the full amount, the percentages above apply to what you actually paid. You will never be refunded more than you paid, and never less than the policy provides.

Disagreements

If you believe a refund has been calculated incorrectly, raise it through Help & Support in the app. You will get a ticket reference and can track the status and our reply in the same place. If we got it wrong, we will correct it.

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable Indian law.
