This policy explains what information PurohitConnect collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it. It covers the PurohitConnect mobile app and website.

| Approximate location | Only while you are using the app, and only if you allow it — to show purohits near you and sort them by distance. Decline and the app works from the address you type instead. |

| Messages | Chat between you and the other party about a booking, so both sides and our support team can refer back to it. |
| Payment information | Collected and processed by Razorpay. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and its amount. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank credentials. |
We additionally collect your identity and credential documents so we can verify you before customers can book you: government ID type and number, uploaded proof documents, qualifications, veda tradition, languages, experience, service area, and your payout account details.
We do not store your full government ID number. It is converted to an irreversible hash for duplicate detection, and only the last four digits are kept so an administrator can match it against your document during verification.
Contacts, calendar, health information, browsing history outside our app, precise background location, and biometric data.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud, a safety report, or a breach of our Terms of Service.
Account and profile information is kept while your account is open. Booking, payment and refund records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which in India is generally eight years, even after an account is closed. Chat messages are kept while the related booking record is kept. Verification documents are kept while you are an active purohit, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case a verification decision is challenged.
Information is encrypted in transit. Access to the database is restricted to our service accounts and to administrators who need it. Payment credentials never reach our systems. Government ID numbers are hashed as described above.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
PurohitConnect is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
We will update this page when our practices change, and note the date at the top. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect.
