You can close your PurohitConnect account at any time, either from inside the app or by asking us here. You do not need the app installed to make the request.
Email us from the address on your account, or send us your registered mobile number, and we will do it for you.
We will confirm your identity before acting, usually by sending a one-time password to the registered number. We acknowledge requests within 48 hours and complete them within 30 days.
Deletion cannot be undone. You will lose your booking history, saved addresses, chat messages, and any unused welcome offer. If you are a purohit, you will also lose your verification status and will need to register and be verified again from scratch.
Your profile and contact details, saved addresses, chat messages, notification tokens, uploaded documents and photos, and your login. Your account can no longer be signed into and you disappear from search.
Records of completed bookings, payments and refunds are retained for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires — generally eight years. These are financial records of a transaction that actually happened, and we are not permitted to erase them on request.
Where we keep them, they are reduced to what the law needs: the transaction, its amount and its date. They are unlinked from your profile and are not used for any other purpose. We also retain the minimum needed to enforce a suspension, so that an account suspended for safety reasons cannot be recreated to avoid it.
